BEDA 15: 3 comedies of '08- my reviews!

1. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Apparently awkward comedy works for me because I kinda thought it was pretty awesome. It was refreshing to see that after a relationship is shattered, it isn't always the woman who is left to suffer, and cry and feel pathetic whenever she sees him. It isn't always the girl who has to watch her ex gallivanting about with some new girl. But of course for every stereotype shattered, there'll be one enforced- the one who broke up with the other doesn't want that person to get over them, despite the fact that they ended the relationship. Either way, it managed to be comedic in the most tense moments and I actually liked it... I feel like it was written for guys but still...

2. Zack and Miri Make a Porno
It was actually a lot better than I expected it to be, albeit predictable, and once again the awkward comedy and dramatic irony were elements well played. I didn't expect it to be a romantic comedy but I guess it was... I mean never in my life would I have admitted that I thought a line like
"We tried to fuck. We ended up making love.” was that romantic, but in my mind it completely was! Of course the porn was the most corny thing in about ever, but this almost NC-17 movie was not that bad.

3. Sex and the City!!
Given I've been a long time fan of the show, so I have an emotional investment in the character's happiness. So those friends are like my friends and I saw the movie with my sister who totally loved it, as did I because it was that fantastic. The little female jokes were fun and everyone was evolving it was inspirational, and beautiful. We laughed and cried... if you like this corny romance
