Inspired by the amazing Billie Joe Armstrong
She was beautiful. Stunning. In a good old-fashioned way; she had long sleek hair, lips as red as the sunset, and was dressed in a long flowy dress. And there she was.
Standing.
As if waiting for a beautiful boy to sweep her off her feet.
And here he came.
A beautiful, carefree, innocent boy. He could catch flies with his wonderfully amazing voice.
She was caught up in his beautiful melodies, his soulful sunshine, his eternal promises.
They were both smitten; fools in love. He was going to make it big. She would follow him. They would make it out of this town. Together. Together.
Together, they could do anything. Even make babies.
And so they did.
Those fools.
They had a boy. A beautiful baby boy. Leo.
But she couldn’t care for Leo on her own, and he didn’t want to leave her alone. And so they settled down to take care of their precious Leo.
It was too much for him. He was a father by consequence, but he wasn’t ready to become a daddy.
And she didn’t want this. No. This life wasn’t good enough for her.
She left him, and took her baby with her. She married rich. She took care of her baby.
But he had already missed out. His window of opportunity had been slammed shut and bolted tight. He was alone.
